We don't do paint-by-number classes — these are a unique exploration of your creative self! We'll work through a process that has you expressing yourself on paper or canvas in a fun, immersive event. You can book a private group or join a studio scheduled class!

This is not your typical paint party! We are not doing a 'step by step'  image. You'll be guided to formulate your own concept to convey an emotion, a season, an experience or idea, then acrylic paint colour mixing and techniques will be demonstrated so that you can express the concept on canvas.


Join me at the creative hub of Hamilton — The Cotton Factory - a funky, industrial art space where your host (Karen Klucowicz) will guide you through inspiration, concept and techniques to bring your ideas to life on canvas. You'll get one-on-one guidance and motivation to create a painting that is meaningful to you.

🧘 MOMs Back-to-School

Your creative time on Your schedule. Now the kids are settling into school, book an abstract painting or drawing workshop with me! I will accommodate the hours you are available. Learn how to come up with and paint your own ideas. Process guidance, colour mixing and painting techniques - one-on-one instruction. 🖌️🖌️Paint WITH me. 

You & I will create a painting on the same canvas!


I am frequently asked by students if they can watch me paint. I believe you'll get more out of it if we paint the same canvas together. We'll concept a piece then as we paint I will "paint out loud" - telling you why I'm doing something, the vision I have for a colour application etc. etc. - that way you'll not only learn techniques as I paint you'll also be able to respond to my work and practice at the same time.


This will be done in professional artist acrylics on a gallery canvas and you will take the piece home. Email me to schedule it today karen@studiok2.ca

🫟Family Christmas Parties 

Private groups of 6 or more - schedule your get together to suit -  suitable for toddlers through adult families -$45/person +hst with minimum group of 6 (additional guests $35each). In this 2 hour experience, you can all create a painting on one canvas or paint individually! We can sort that out when you get in touch. “Bachelorette” or Girls' Night Out - This experience is all about drawing the human figure.


Great experience to celebrate the “last” hurrah or good reason to get together with the girls!


Gather your friends and try your hand together at life drawing. This 2.5 hour experience features a nude model (male or female or both if you want to do a “stag and doe” night).


You’ll be guided through this life drawing event with technique demos (and you’ll be practicing) in pencil, chalk and colour.  All materials, wine and light refreshments are included for this painting party.

This art experience for couples is perfect for gathering friends - you can all relax, unwind and get creative together.


You'll be set up with wine from a local winery and light snacks to enjoy while you create. All materials are included (you'll want to wear comfy clothes and ones you don't mind getting a bit of paint on - it happens sometimes!). We'll start with a little journaling to clear the mind then you move on to concept and create a meaningful work of art together!

Explore figure drawing  - this workshop is 1.5 hours short and will show you that we are all creative and you likely know more about what you see than you've put on paper before! 


From basic proportions and gestures to planning a completely rendered drawing, you'll be guided to create an expressive work of art.

"Full disclaimer - although I consider myself a creative person I would not say I am artistic person. My husband would say he is neither creative or artistic, but Karen (studio) owner was convinced that we would be able to conceptualize and paint a piece of art TOGETHER that represented a theme we agreed upon reflecting our relationship. I decided to make it a surprise date night since I didn't know if my husband would go for it. He was definitely surprised and I was even more surprised that we left with a beautiful and FULLY FINISHED piece of art that means something special to us (now hanging in my office). The 2 hours went by really quickly (in a good way) and I think it comes down to how it was broken down. Karen explained the process (not limited to just painting) and set up the studio so we each had some space to practice drawing before we put paint to canvas. A blank canvas is a bit daunting so it was great to do some test runs on paper, plus she gave lots of instruction on how to start, different techniques and how to mix colours. I think what sets this apart from other paint nights is that you leave with something completely unique and get to learn some cool artsy stuff in the process. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone - experienced or not. There's enough instruction (without being intrusive) to get you there regardless of level of experience."
