Expressive Abstract Paint Party

We're hosting this party the third Wednesday evening

each month beginning March 20th.

This is not your typical paint party! We are not doing a 'step by step' group image. You'll be guided to formulate your own concept to convey an emotion, a season, an experience or idea, then acrylic paint colour mixing and techniques will be demonstrated so that you can express the concept on canvas.


Join me at the creative hub of Hamilton — The Cotton Factory - a funky, industrial art space where your host (Karen Klucowicz) will guide you through inspiration, concept and techniques to bring your ideas to life on canvas. You'll get one-on-one guidance and motivation to create a painting that is meaningful to you.

Spend a day as an artist! 6.5 hours long, this experience has you living a day as an artist (& yes you'll have lunch too!) from demos and chats to planning your artwork, drawing and painting — explore your creative self. $125/person

date night private painting experience for 2

This art experience for two will give you time to relax, unwind and get creative with your partner.


You'll be set up with wine from a local winery and light snacks to enjoy while you create. All materials are included (you'll want to wear comfy clothes and ones you don't mind getting a bit of paint on - it happens sometimes!). We'll start with a little journaling to clear the mind then you move on to concept and create a meaningful work of art together!

private painting experience for 2 $175.00

includes instruction, refreshments and all workshop materials.

We limit these nights to host five couples to maximize the experience (call directly for private evenings or private group bookings).

figure drawing for beginners

Explore figure drawing  - this workshop is 1.5 hours short and will show you that we are all creative and you likely know more about what you see than you've put on paper before! 


From basic proportions and gestures to planning a completely rendered drawing, you'll be guided to create an expressive work of art. Minimum 2 participants.

figure painting for beginners

We begin this 1.5 hour experience with an introduction to figure painting and then move on to colour mixing, techniques and forms to bring your vision to life on a canvas. A great followup to figure drawing basics.

"Full disclaimer - although I consider myself a creative person I would not say I am artistic person. My husband would say he is neither creative or artistic, but Karen (studio) owner was convinced that we would be able to conceptualize and paint a piece of art TOGETHER that represented a theme we agreed upon reflecting our relationship. I decided to make it a surprise date night since I didn't know if my husband would go for it. He was definitely surprised and I was even more surprised that we left with a beautiful and FULLY FINISHED piece of art that means something special to us (now hanging in my office). The 2 hours went by really quickly (in a good way) and I think it comes down to how it was broken down. Karen explained the process (not limited to just painting) and set up the studio so we each had some space to practice drawing before we put paint to canvas. A blank canvas is a bit daunting so it was great to do some test runs on paper, plus she gave lots of instruction on how to start, different techniques and how to mix colours. I think what sets this apart from other paint nights is that you leave with something completely unique and get to learn some cool artsy stuff in the process. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone - experienced or not. There's enough instruction (without being intrusive) to get you there regardless of level of experience."
